Shouldn't evidence be banned from this section?

Not necessarily. If AJ's doing good, I wanna see someone skew the numbers to explain why there's hope. And on the flipside, I need someone like you or wupk or someone to make a realist AJ thread explaining why getting our hopes up is not the right way.

Now you're starting to get the idea of the alternative forums and why they're a necessary evil for this community. We have to see both sides no matter how skewed you skew the numbers for either direction. Fox News vs. MSNBC.

What if my last pair of homer glasses get broken. Will this side of the fence still look this beautiful.

No one has ever got Jackson out at the MLB level! HoF guaranteed!

Seriously though, if Jackson could become a bench bat capable of playing Catcher and Outfield and hit for some power I think that could be valuable.

6 HRs in 16 games so far. Extrapolate that across a full MLB season and it's a 60 HR pace!

Here's an optimistic take - Seattle doesn't do a great job developing their players. Could be it's more on them than Jackson.

It always bothers me when you draft a guy at a particular position and move him before he's played a game. You probably don't have the ability to project good or great or bust...shouldn't you try him at his highest and best use - in this case, catcher - before you move him to corner OF?

They mishandled him. And if you can't handle a kid with a little ego coming out of high school whom you've just given several million dollars, well, maybe you're in the wrong line of work.

So do the pessimist not post anymore. Looks so dark and scary over there that I am not brave enough to check.

Isn't that exactly what Gattis was?

Well, Gattis could play outfield in the loosest sense of the term.

Too depressed to post. We just sit on the edges of our beds, in the shuttered gloom, gazing vacantly at the floor—at that single stray sock that meets our ever-deepening aloofness eye-to-eye.

2 more doubles tonight.

I do start to see some writers turning a bit more positive on him or nuetral from negative. Most doubt he can catch still (I wouldn't expect them to change that stance on such a difficult move being successful) but figure by the end of the year we ought to know if he can stick there.

Jaw-dropping use of the dash there. Top notch

The thing with Jackson is he plays "bat." If he could ever become a serviceable catcher, all the better. Curious to see if he can keep up his pace and whether that will earn him a promotion to Mississippi. I think he stays in Florida until they figure out whether or not he can play catcher. If they determine he needs to go back to the outfield, he'll likely be in Mississippi the next day.
