Please give my regards and apologies.

Now that our traffic has increased, the spambots, googlebots, and internet spiders have found our site worthy of being a playpen.

I'm getting close to 80-100 fake spambot registration accounts per day. I have to manually look over these registrations. Sometimes there's 20-30 plus and I just kind of skim over and if they all look illegitimate, then I just delete them all and a few times now a real person has gotten rejected.

Even with the human verification to register, the bots have found the code and I am the last line of defense. These bots will just post spam about viagra, beastiality, and zito porn etc.

To give an example of how many I can get, I was away from the site for 2 hours the other day and when I checked for new registrations, these are all the ones I got within 2 hours. One thing I noticed on other Braves Fansites like Chop-Nation and other forums, is they have a few thousand members listed as registered but when you look at their member list you see a ton of the same spam-like usernames.

If anyone has any issue or have been rejected, just tell them to e-mail chopcountry@gmail.com, or you can PM me here and tell me (either ahead of time or whatever works).

Does vBulletin not have a way to get around the bots? You think they'd have figured something out by now.

I'd have to IP Ban most of those IP addresses...

I, personally, only came here in hopes that eventually bots would start posting bestiality links.

How are the bots able to get through the capcha? That seems amazing to me. I'll tell you. The internet is a scary place. I'm going to go put on my adult diapers now.

If we refer someone here and they sign up, do we get a month free on our subscription?

These bots are on computers, basically these people have programs that will screenshot the CAPTCHA picture, and use a grid to decode the letters (similar to how smartphones can decode finger typing and translate it to electronic typing). From there, these bots will continue trying the captcha with different combinations of letters that slightly resemble until they find the match. Once they found a match, it will store it as a confirmed captcha and send it out to other spambots and they'll attack.

These captcha's are redundant, there aren't new ones, just the same set of different ones. I can't generate them, nor can the system, they're just basically some faded photoshop/ms paint drawings.

I changed it from the image verification to human Questions and Answers.

Questions should be easy enough (What is Larry Wayne Jones' nickname, How many homers did Hank hit, What year did we win it all, etc). Should halt the spamming for a while.

At minimum, you'll be teaching robots some important historical facts.
