Snit loves to hit and run with our sluggers, but why not with Phillips?

For everyone who wants to believe our team is making progress, it's sobering to know we're something like 2-9 against a team that's 33 games under .500.

Albies just struck out on a pitch he must learn to lay off. When pitchers attack him up in the zone he is going to hit too many easy fly outs if he continues to swing.

Why the hell was Kemp playing a left handed hitter on the left field line? It cost Atlanta 3rd and 2nd base instead of 2nd and 1st.

It's bad enough to allow 6 opposing pitchers to get an RBI hit against you in a year let alone in August.

USMA76
08-28-2017, 06:53 PM
Coulda' been a lot worse than one run in that inning after Nola's (2 for 37 on the year now) RBI hit.

While I'm here today, a quiz for y'all. Which hitter would you rather have (these are made up stats, not real)?

A. .280/.370/.500 28-30 HR 80-90 RBI
B. .300/.320/.440 15-20 HR 100-110 RBI
C. .260/.290/.450 18-20 HR 110 RBI

And which do you suspect the announcers would prefer...

Give me A.

Chip and Joe would prefer B or C....leaning towards C.

Combination of locating your fastball and having a changeup is better than throwing 96+

A 9-28 start was enough to get Freddy fired. Right now Snit's 2nd half record is 14-25 and will most likely be 14-28 after Phillies. Hopefully this collapse will be enough to fire snit

Not sure good what that will do...

We've got rookies in the rotation and position players....are we really expecting this team to take off running with them in the lineup?

Has any player made a leap from last season to this? Seems everyone is regressing... time to go another route. I really hope snit benches Swanson in favor of Camargo... this will force our FO's hand

Not sure if you'd call it a leap or not, but Freddie? Seems to have improved almost across the board - from .302/.400/.569 to .322/.420/.615 (roughly 1/2 the games tho, granted)

Freddie was just a continuation from an amazing second half last year. The pitching has been some of the worst in a long time and some of the plans pitching wise are bad too.

While I was glad to see McDowell leave I didn't like the hiring of Hernandez. When you see a list of the best pitching coaches in baseball Chuck is always rated poorly and there's a good reason for it.

Enscheff

The problem is not Snit. The problem is the organizational thought processes that lead to the hiring of Snit and every other sub-optimal move made by management.

Sadly Fredi wasn't even given the same talent in that 9-28 as Snitker has been given this second half.

bravesfanforlife88
08-28-2017, 10:18 PM
I personally believe that Snitker has cost this team at least 10 wins this season. And that is low end, it could be closer to 15.

He just has really shown to be incompetent as a manager. Good for the clubhouse, keep him as a roaver or bench guy. But he cannot manage next season

Hernandez needs to be gone. I heard on the game today we have given up over 40 hits to the opposing teams pitchers...and something like 16 were RBIs....you have to be kidding me

On the Snit thing, I don't beleive we ever intended on bringinh him back, but the good 2nd half made it looks as though it was due to him, so they felt they needed to give him a token season. I think Ron Washington may be given a chance next year.

I like the K's and more use of his offseapped stuff by Sims. I'm thinking this is a trade audition, so I'm hoping he can put together some good starts ovre the next month.

bravesfanMatt
08-29-2017, 10:03 AM
I know we wouldn't have 70+ wins at this point.. but I have no doubt that this team would be better under a competent manager. Sniker can't manage a 162 game season. He has no clue on rest or pitching management. He can't figure out strategic maneuvering or advance metric and relies on his gut to make critical calls.
