I'll be staying in downtown ATL, don't have a parking pass for Thurs or Fri. Best way to get to the stadium is? Marta? Drive and park anyways, just a little longer walk?

Get off on the stop near the Capitol building, and just watch the mile and a half to the stadium. Although with this being playoffs and expected to be super busy, they might be doing shuttles from other stops.

I saw where they had $5 parking at Lakewood Amphitheater and then they bus you to the game. Not sure I'd want to do that though. Marta seems like a good choice possibly. I'm guessing that there'd be one simply bussing from downtown hotels to Turner Field and simliarly after the game, from Turner Field to Downtown hotels.

Parking should be fun on Thursday and Friday. I purchased my tickets two weeks ago and all the lots were sold out. I'm leaving work at 5:30 tomorrow and 3:30 on Friday. I only work maybe 20 mins w/out traffic to the stadium so we'll see how that goes.

you could get off marta at the Georgia State University/State Capital station. I am a student at GSU and have made the walk plenty of times. It's not bad only about a mile and it's a straight shot to the stadium. Also a lot of traffic/police on the way so its a safe walk as well. If you try and park anywhere near the stadium the traffic will be terrible and I would suggest trying to be there about 4 hours early if you wanna find a spot and beat most of the rush.

Seems like the GaState stop may be my best option according to you guys. I simply worried about the potential obviously of walking a mile into downtown ATL at around 11pm tomorrow night as I will have my son. But if there is plenty of police....it may not be a big deal. Thanks for the input.

Well you won't be the only ones walking, so even if there isn't many police there, you still have thousands of people who will be making the same walk to the Marta as you.

Rumor was the Braves were trying to get the city to build a direct line to Turner Field, but meh who knows.

What about the Braves Shuttle that runs from the Underground Mall at the Five Points Marta stop and takes you directly to the stadium? I used that when I was there visiting, but only to the game. I don't know how it runs after.

When I went to Chipper's #10 Retirement ceremony agaist D'Backs, it was a sellout crowd and they actually had shuttles right outside the stadium if I recall correctly. It takes you to the Five Points station.

I live in town, and I am without question taking Marta. I plan to go early for BP. My seats kinda suck ... section 101, row 26, wherever that is, but I am going to sneak down to the good seats after the fourth inning or so if it's not crowded.

You cant get much better seats than those. Directly to the right side of home plate and high enough to see the whole field.

I'm going to park up north, take MARTA to G State, and hoof it from there.

I'll be taking Julius Filius to his first Braves game.

That was a wee bit of the humorous irony there.

I'm going tonight and Friday as well. I'll be the bearded oaf wearing a Sunday red Uggla jersey 'cause I'm special like that.

Does anybody know if the Nalley lot is permit only during the playoffs?

I ended up riding the shuttle instead of walking. It was quicker/smoother than I remembered. Parking was free with validation. Round trip train pass cost $5.
