I'm not sure if it's been said here yet but the style that Chip Caray is trying to rock is pretty meh on him lol.

Chip Caray is pretty meh regardless. He calls the game like his Dad and Granddad did, DRUNK. Far to many mistakes to be totally sober.

Beautiful day here in Florida! Serevino popping the gun at 96. Would have been nice to have gotten him for Grilli

Julio said at the start of spring training he was going to use his slider and change more. Do you see anything with respect to those pitches.

try and sneak up to behind home plate....i used to do that by the 6th inning when I went to A's games...and of course it is easy to do for minor league games

Teheran will be out by the 6th, and I’m here with a 15 month old and the in-laws so we won’t make it that long either

Top 10 2B already?

Better than Acuna! That's how good he is!

Where would the rebuild be without those two.

Enscheff

I always noticed Albies has a slingy throwing motion, by it’s especially evident live. That’s probably why he has had accuracy issues and was moved to 2B in favor of Swanson at SS.

I can't even imagine. A rebuild focused around Albies, Acuna and Freeman is REALLY good IMO. Especially for a team that has pitching options out the butt.

Me: who’s this on the mound?
Father in law: I can’t see that far.
Me: oh it’s Kazmir, they got him from the Dodgers.
Father in law: he must be pretty good then.
Me: no, he was a salary dump in exchange for Kemp.

Double ripped down the line on the next pitch.

Guys like Fried and Sims still have some development to do and AAA is the place where they should be doing it.

Ideally one of them pitches lights out in AAA for a couple months and gets called up.

We may set the world's record for most different pitchers used in a season and I have no problem with the decision to send down Blair, Fried, Sims, and Wisler. I don't see any of them as being irretrievable as contributors, but they all have things to work on. Guys like Sanchez and Kazmir are decent security blankets with whom to start the season.

I guess...I’m just done with the retreads. I wish Wisler or Blair would have done enough...or or anyone besides those two. I guess it’s just for a month or so anyway (hopefully). Kemp trade looks even better (no matter the circumstances if both pitchers on in the rotation.

Kazmir says he threw 90-100 pitches in a bullpen session on Wednesday because he didn't know he'd be pitching again today.

Sims is what he is. Watched him from rookie til now and it is the same thing. Spurts of good....mostly bad. I'm for trading if he had value.

Has to be...kazmir could consistently break 85. Anyone knowhow hard Sanchez threw yesterday? Had to be a strong outing if the braves moved this quickly.

Just hope either gohara heals quickly or Fried is given a shot.

It does seem pretty sudden, given Kazmir’s sunk cost. They must’ve really liked what they’ve seen from Sanchez.

His k and bb rates were solid last year but that hr/fb ratio from the last three years are a bad sign in sun trust.

also the alternatives all fell by the wayside...my guess is Sanchez will make a couple starts in the minors then get called up when we need a fifth starter

After the game, Kazmir said his arm was tired because he threw 90 pitches in a side session Wednesday because he didn't know he was pitching today?!? Guessing that was a factor in his unconditional release.

I hope AA is keeping a close watch on guys being released from other squads. I would not be shocked to see guys available better than our projected 5th starter (Sanchez), 8th man in the bullpen (Carle?), and last man on the bench (Carrera / Santana / Stewart).

Case in point, I think Bryce Brentz is worth at least considering over Lane Adams, who I've not been high on. He's a RH version of Preston Tucker, so a good platoon partner in the short term. If the plan is truly to bring Acuna up 4/14, Brentz could fit better than Tucker as the 4th OF at that point. Acuna would be the backup CF, so the biggest need would be a RH platoon bat to take ABs away from Markakis versus lefties.

Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh (doing my best imitation of the late Merv Griffin)!!!!!!

I see a cage match brewing. If my memory serves me correctly, Carp strongly advocated the Braves drafting Brentz in 2010 while Braves1976 is the undisputed #1 Lane Adams fan. Carp v. Braves1976 with the victor getting his choice for the coveted 5th OF slot!
