Read this morning the breakdown of the House of Reps

Nancy Pelosi controlls 197 votes
John Boehner " ~88 votes
Ted Cruz " 144 votes

Wondering if this time we can throw dirt on Boehners grave? This guy has more lives than Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

My thoughts are -- he survives this time and retains his Speakership and with (D) has an effective year. Effective in that he wins more than he loses

Dems may not want to throw dirt on his grave. They may want to start praying he stays.

Pelosi gets the votes when she needs it, that's why she's held her position so long. She's clearly a very effective leader at getting whatever the leadership wants passed.

that's been true since 2006 when she first became Speaker.
There is a coaching phrase that goes "you are as good as you are effective"

DeLay and Hastert were the same - they pretty much ruled their caucus with an iron fist.
Gingrich was Gingrich. Interesting that in the 1994 (R) takeover of the House the Speaker Tom Foley was defeated in his district re-election. One thing written in blogs is Boehner will have a primary this time. Be interesting to see how that goes. Another is, I wonder what the agreement between Boehner and Pelosi is now???
If nothing else Boehner is a practical politician - used to hand out the checks for Jack Abramoff (?) on the floor of the House.

House of Reps is an interesting place

No coach anywhere ever said that.
