I'll be in Vegas for The Big 50 from June 1-7. Anyone else around here going?

My friend, I lived in Vegas for a while, I don't want to go there ever again, it destroyed my family.

Enjoy yourself there, it has changed in the last 20 years.

Step-daughter went to grad school at UNLV. Been to Vegas a couple of times as a result. Never going back.

Thanks. I've been to every major gambling spot in the United States, but this tournament has the potential to be the largest for me (and maybe the largest ever, period). There might be 20-25k people in it. I'm really looking forward to it.

If it goes well, I'll be back in July for the main event.

They've really tightened up to protect tourists. I'm sure living there still sucks.

Was this because of gambling or just horrible experiences outside casinos?

I don't mind the gambling at all. No really horrible experiences. I just thought the place was a combination ostentatious slaghole combined with an alarming amount of poverty. I was out there earlier this decade and they hadn't completely recovered from the housing bust, so maybe things have gotten better.

Ah ok. Thought you were saying you got too hooked on gambling and lost too much to go back lol

nail meets coffin.

This is SO true.

I can win 50k and then lose 100k easily, you get addicted.

It depends, of course. I've been gambling pretty hardcore since I was about 16, and I am not addicted.
