Ownership is a joke. Who has defended it?
There are those that have said since we are a middle tier team in terms of revenue/attendance so our payroll is where it should. Which is obviously not the case. Other teams with similar revenue/attendance numbers have a payroll in the 110 million range. The Braves are lagging behind and it's hurting the team.Quote:

So we could have $130 million dollar payroll and still turn a profit? This is why I wish we were like the NFL and only allow individual owners.
Am I correct in inferring from this article that:
1) In 2013, revenues increased by $35M from $216M in 2012 to $251M?
2) In 2013, expenses increased by $14M from $185M in 2012 to $199M?
3) Operating income increased by $21M from $31M to $52M?
Liberty has always been a joke. I don't know why people believed every year that payroll was going to rise substantially.

Which only makes it worse.
The braves turn a profit and yet the profits are not allowed to spend the profits on the team.
Yeah that makes it even worse. I have a feeling they'll turn an even bigger profit next season. What sucks is we could keep all of our young guys if they didn't wanna pocket it all.
No one has ever seen me defend them, and the longer it goes the more annoying this situation has become.
