I guess we don't know for sure that the Sox aren't looking for pitching prospects rather than hitting prospects... would just seem to make more sense if they are trading a controllable starter.
No they're not my second team like the Yankees are for you. I do watch a lot of MLB games and a lot of minor league baseball and follow twitter, MLBTR, etc. Further, I was actually hoping Houston won the AL West last year as I'm a fan of some of their players, yes Gattis included. But even Houston isn't a second team for me anymore than the A's were when I watched them a lot the year before Beane sold off Donaldson and co.
PS: I am still a Gattis fan, homie has two bombs and 4 RBI's tonight. Plus he's throwing out runners at a very good rate this year, etc.
I like Chris Cotillo but he thought the Braves could trade AJP recently. So I am not sure about how much here is speculation without sources. Anyone that thinks AJP is wanted by another team is crazy and not following this year.
JFYI, I am referencing these tweets: Chris Cotillo @ChrisCotillo 44m 44 minutes ago
Source: AJ Pierzynski is available in trades. Deal possible. #Braves

Industry insiders believe Braves are adding depth in case of a Pierzynski trade. Nothing close on AJ, per source.

Source: Braves signing catcher Michael McKenry to minor-league deal.

To recap: Braves have signed George Kottaras and Michael McKenry as depth options. AJ Pierzynski deal may come soon.

Someone as bad as Bill Shanks called out those tweets noting the obvious. No way AJP is traded, released is possible. But no one wants him in a trade.
Sales great but he'd destroy the rebuild. I'm more interested in the Rays pitchers due to cost.
I couldn't be more opposed to trading for Chris Sale right now. We aren't close to winning anything, and it would hurt us 3-4 years from now.
Stay the course and keep building the farm to an ungodly level.
We could say that about anything reported, but we do have from MLBTR the Rangers beat writer saying this: SATURDAY, 7:52pm: The Rangers are currently unwilling to trade Mazara for Sale, but they’re open to dealing Gallo, Profar and some of their pitching prospects, per Sullivan.
Teheran for Sale would be a fair trade. Of course I want to win the big trades.
