I don't know. Luck was pretty damn good last year.
Luck is and will be really good...he's been the Colts whole team the last two years. He has some "help" this year, but there are new guys and his line still sucks. He's been getting the Romo treatment - bad o-line, bad defense, little run game, but all the blame for not winning. He's already won 3 playoff games and is super young. He's going to win some ships.
Luck hype train is ahead of his production. But it's not hard to see why. Andrew Luck is the most gifted QB in the league. He's basically another Aaron Rodgers potentially. Now I say potentially because he could not reach that potential. He could be say Jay Cutler. I'm optimistic and think he rises to the top. I think the one thing that's been kind of proven is he's not the type to immediately react to the league. Sometimes we take for granted how well certain QBs are and by year 3 are top 10 QBs regularly. Ryan did it, Peyton did it, and a few others have in recent years too. But you forget that Brees wasn't Breesus where he was regularly a top 5 QB until he moved to New Orleans and even then it took a year or 2 under thenew system. Brady was playing well to start his career but didn't become the force that we know until his 4th season as a starter.
Luck is just about heading into that age when guys like Brees and Brady started taking off. So we could very well see him do it as well.
Crazy thing with Luck, is the Colts ahve really sucked at getting him the help he needs on the line. The first draft with Luck they took one OL in the seventh round. Granted Baker didn't really work out but the Falcons showed a real interest in protecting their QB the year they drafted him. Colts have taken 2 OL in the first 3 rounds the last 4 years. Mewhort in the second and Thornton in the 3rd. That's not acceptable if you clearly have an issue. I'm all for BPA, but you shouldn't be taking so many WRs. Colts first 4 picks this year included a WR, a corner, and a safety. This was after already having Ty Hilton and Moncrief and signing ANdre Johnson. Now I get Moncrief isn't a stud, but he was a 3rd round pick with decent production. Could have taken a number of OL who maybe don't work out, but maybe they do. You just have to try.
I think Indy has done a terrible job assembling that team for years. They have paid no attention to the offensive line, and we've seen how invaluable a good one can be. Their offense suffers big time because of this and it makes it impossible to truly compete. No one is ever threatened even a little bit by their run game. Their defense isn't good either, and they've done a poor job trying to build it. It's a wonder they've won as many games as they have the past couple years, and most of it can be attributed to Luck.
He can still be considered really good and his team recognized as poorly assembled and still be considered overrated. He's not a top 5 quarterback (yet), but he tends to get labeled as one frequently.
Personally, I would take Brady, Rodgers, Rivers, Roethlisberger, Romo, Ryan, and Brees ahead of him for 2015.
I'd agree wit hthat list. It's not a bad group to be behind though. I think Luck is the top of the 3rd tier of QBs. As I see it in the NFL you have the top tier which is Brady, Peyton, Brees, and Rodgers, they're the guys who basically every year are in the top 5. Then you have Rivers topping the next group because he used to be part of the former group before his collapse so who knows, Roethlisberger, Ryan, and Romo round that group out. The next group is guys like Luck, Flacco, Eli, Wilson, and Stafford. Maybe Cutler in that group as well. This group has a few guys. Eli, Stafford, and Flacco are boom and bust types, Wilson is very solid but not in tthe above category, at least not yet, and Luck I think is the best of the boom and bust types.
Rivers didn't collapse. He had one bad year in 2012 and has been top 5-10 besides that. According to PFF

09-1
10-1

No surprise, but the Cowboys have placed Tony Romo on the short term IR list. He'll be eligible to return on November 22nd. I've seen Dallas may bring in Matt Flynn, Christian Ponder, or Josh Johnson to be an extra QB on the roster in the meantime. Of those, I'd rather have Flynn.
Albert Breer is reporting the Bills are in the process of trading Matt Cassell to the Cowboys.
Jimmy Graham unhappy in Seattle. Gosh, I'm stunned.
Put Eli behind Dallas' line. Luck isn't the only player you could use that logic with. Any QB is going to improve in that situation.
I'm just saying that Luck isn't quite the player he's often proclaimed to be. That's not the same as saying he won't ever be that player.
