However, I am less concerned about Romo's play today as I am his long term health. He is not a young man anymore. He's not going to recover from his injuries as quickly. Reports are saying he is out for the season.
For the Cowboys, now is the time to ready themselves for the time Tony Romo's career is over. The Cowboys have waited long enough to find his long term replacement. This season should be a wake up call for that. It may sound crazy, but if the Redskins do as I anticipate they will and cut RG3, the I think Dallas should sign him as a backup next season. That, and still draft a QB for the longer term. If they sign Griffin, then perhaps they can wait until the third or fourth round to get a QB in the draft, but one needs to be taken. Again, the Cowboys cannot afford to wait.
I'm still a fan of Tony Romo. I've defended him more than anyone else on this board. But, the end of his career is quickly approaching and the Cowboys need to be ready. They weren't prepared well enough for the end of the Troy Aikman era. They have to get this right. Jerry and Stephen, you better get it right.
