Lopez has said the difference is he learned how to sequence his pitches better since he was last in the rotation. I don't know how good he will be at the end of the day but he was never lacking in stuff. I am fairly confident he can be a sub 4 ERA SP going forward assuming health. Which is a massive bargain for his salary.

It was interesting to watch Lopez last night. These arguably great Houston hitters were flailing at junk sliders a foot off the plate. Maybe it's something in his mechanics that makes every pitch look like a strike out of his hands.
Yeah- no kidding - some of those pitches and swings looked like Phil Niekro vs. Jeff Francoeur….
