They likely have the option to skip Matz if they choose, due to scheduled off days. Not sure if they will. He's been pitching pretty good. Won today.
actually I think their plan is to offer QOs to Smith and Bumgarner...so they will get something from holding on to them
Mets will do same with Wheeler
for teams on the edges of playoff contention I think holding on to those kinds of players and giving them a QO is not a bad way to go
Wish we didnt have to use Melancon, but good win.
Snits still hasn't learned a damn thing about use of BP. Brings Luke in with 2 runners on base and he allows both to score. Did the same thing last night. I would really like to know what Lukes inherited runners scoring percentage is?
Then leaves Tomlin in with 2 runners on for Cruz. Managed to only give up 1 run there, but still 2 runners on for Sano and Tomlin still throwing. HR to close score to 4 runs and more drama.
Great series for us.
Sad we had to burn thru Martin and Melancon but good win.
MM threw like 4 pitches. He is fine.
The Braves just handled a team on pace for nearly 100 wins pretty easily, and were a poor luck blown save away from a sweep on the road.
Snit just said Riley is having some knee issues, is heading to the IL, and will be checked by our doctors and will also get a second opinion. Snit said he hurt it during a warmup. Could be some truth to the reddit poster.
This part is correct. Assuming we pick up the options on Muk, Flowers and Teheran and bring back McCann at 5M and Donaldson at 25M, our opening day payroll would be around 130M. So this 28-32 we have to spend would effectively be exhausted by bringing back McCann and Donaldson on those terms. We could create some flexibility by not bringing back some of the guys on options or trading players away.
Riley on IL. Wow. Looks like reddit guy knew correctly.
