Gwinnett Roster Announced
-
no surprises here. Much better team than last years team, but still void of a lot of talent outside of Ozzie and Newk. Hopefully Wisler and Blair can regain some prospectiveness.
Did anyone see where Minter would be assigned. I assume AA once off the DL.

I would think he'd be in AAA. Guys like Freeman, Cruz, and Peterson are not going to hold a spot over real talent.
I don't see Bradley Roney listed. I'm assuming he's on the DL

That's going to be a pretty watchable team...much more so than AAA usually is. Ozzie alone is worth the price of the ticket.

hopefully you better hurry!!

So rotation is some combination of Newcombe, Blair, Jackson, Wisler and Sims?
-
Did Jake Schrader get cut loose? I thought I'd see him on either the Mississippi or Gwinnett roster.
-
Surprised at the lack of retreads. They probably had counted on Danks accepting the send down, with occasional potential for call up, whole offering some mentoring to the kids.

Is Jackson starting or relieving? I was under the impression that he was a bullpen arm.

Yeah, I would assume De La Cruz is the other SP after Wisler, Blair, Newcomb and Sims.
-
Wilser/Blair/Newcomb/Sims is a pretty darn good AAA rotation --- all four of those guys could certainly have a MLB career in some role.
I think people have jumped off the Newcomb bandwagon too quickly.

I don't remember where I saw it...maybe from Bowman on braves.com...but I saw a list that had Jackson listed as one of the starters for Gwinnett.

My expectation is we get one solid major league starter and two major league relievers out of that group. A second starter would be a bonus.

At least one of them is trade bait.

If two of them take a step forward this year, I could see one traded rather than putting both in next year's rotation.

With 3 veteran starters only on contract through the end of this season, that seems to be the plan. Then some of those, who really figure into future plans, are currently in AA.

Should be a solid team -- last year's team was woeful to watch.
