Someone who pays attention to TMZ told me about this like an hour ago, and I responded "damn, and Lebron just passed him the night before on the all time scoring list. He's having a bad week." And they didn't get that that wasn't a serious statement.

The real tragedy is his kids were on board.

I find it hard to believe the youngest was on board.

So this sounds like a wait until it's no longer rumour situation.

From what I heard it was Kobe, his oldest daughter Gianna, the pilot, another player/kid and their parent. Absolutely horrific.

So, I assume Kobe was the one actually piloting the helicopter? I know he was a helicopter pilot.

Early reports said 5 people including a non-Kobe pilot, but since we now know there were 9 people, I'd say that the pilot must for now be doubted as well.
