That wasnt my prescription, but I explained what would happen.
The same thing that has happened today just more concentrated in one field

what to do with all of these women's studies graduates ?
what a stupid opinion from a seemingly intelligent person
...........
as far as forgiving the debt -- following a link provided by someone here - there was a comment saying peoples complaining of lack of fairness directed at those who paid the loan is comparable to the theory that emancipation was unfair to the slaves that went before
or add any other instance of civil progress you like
another's gain is not your loss. Unless of course you wish to see it that way. For whatever reason
I would hope yu would be delighted to see other Americans not endure a hardship. I take it you were opposed to the $25M fraud fine resulting from a class action suit levied over a fraudulent college.
And how often do you think that is the case?
And the socio economic status of those effected?
and the box they find themselves in?
And the cost levied thinking they can can out of that box?
because of the narrow view of your experience you don't seem to
understand the socio-economic forces that fuel the college loan debt
that forces a need for this or any correction
Would like to selfishly add --- the infusion of those monthly payments into the economy
suppose for a second that $18K you say you lost last year could have been in part supported by college loan payments being spent (or finding their way) to your investment.
You know the old marketplace correction.

I have no problem with Women Studies degrees --- I have no problem with anyone working for 4 years to attain a goal of betterment.
I have no peopblem with people learning to study what they like and in the process learning how to reach goals and how return the lessons learned atttaining those goals
You bemoan AOC's degree in the field you encourage others to pursue
Which leads me to recognize a disconnect

IMO this is a bad analogy. Forgiving debt and making college free doesn’t solve the underlying cost problem, it just shifts the cost from one group of people to another. But the cost is still there and needs to be paid. The slavery example (or other “civil progress” examples) don’t have that feature.
I see regulation of predatory lending as the first thing to be addressed
to level the playing field.
As far a cost whatever the market will bear.
People dont have options coming from high school
When I came out of high school when America was "Great" I had options
College
Train for a trade
Military
Smoke dope and play guitar
.............
I was not a scholarly person so college at 18 was not in the cards
I did have the option of learning a trade through union apprentice programs.
After the gutting of the unions ( a political move designed to break up a voting bloc) government trade programs were initiated
Those programs have disappeared in a TeaParty fog.
Then military. 'nuff said ?
Where do you propose 18 year olds turn ?

Creating a market for loans
Predatory lending by whom? I just did a google search and found that less than 8% of the total outstanding student debt is private debt
Would like to selfishly add --- the infusion of those monthly payments into the economy
If I didn’t have to make my monthly loan payment, I’d certainly invest some of the money and spend some of the money.
I’d say the same if I didn’t have to pay my rent bill, food bill, car loan, income tax, social security tax, Medicare/medicaid tax, etc, etc. Not sure why my student loan debt burden is anymore worthy of being forgiven than those other burdens, especially if one of the goals is stimulating the economy.
See Michael Lewis (author of Moneyball as well as The Big Short that explained the housing crisis '08) map the path of the college loan industry.
And, it is a for profit industry
Isn't rent regulated (in some areas ) aren't food prices regulated, isn't your car loan regulated, aren't taxes regulated by congress
?
Would like to selfishly add --- the infusion of those monthly payments into the economy
What does that quote have to do with regulation? You seem to be arguing that relieving student loan payments would stimulate the economy as that money would be utilized in other ways. My point is that logic no different than if we were to relieve people of any of their other financial obligations by taking their burden and playing it on someone else.
The left stands for nothing. Whatever it takes to get elected.

I think this is the episode on Apple-Sticher etc
for $ 2.50 I see you can buy a transcript.
Which is another topic for another day
Looking this up I found this article from a few years back

The podcast I found more interesting because there was a story of a mid 30s teacher trying to pay her debt while navigating the hurdles
More gaslighting and totally overlooks everything your boy does
But I find it funny that you are upset they might have initially agreed with a stance you hate and when they sleep on it and think it might be a bad idea you hate that as well
No matter what they do, your white supremacist ass will complain
For what it’s worth, I’d happily accept a compromise where we exclude specific felons like terrorists from voting while allowing the vast majority of prisoners to vote.
These candidates are fake. Thats the whole point. Its all about whats popular. There are no principled candidates. When you change your position in less than 24 hours you didny really believe in it in the first place but felt the need to publicize it on live television.
you are less than half a step away from figuring out more groups to lump in to round up with your fascists leader it seem
they are american citizens, right? then they can vote if they want and for sure can vote once they have paid their debt
at least you have walked away from giving a **** about the constitution for your stances. freedom boy follows ya most of the time and still falsely claims to care about what it says and it certainly doesn't say "you can vote unless you have been to jail"
It's all they care about
