Gonna be a tough matchup going against Stripling, though he's been a little more human lately.
Still have no idea how Stripling is doing what he's doing. He has no track record of pitching like he has this year and his stuff isn't that great.
expecting a yuge game from Suzuki
I'm expecting a huge game from Stripling
Some of us were critical of Snit last night for burning Venters in a situation where we were out of the game.
There is a bit of a silver lining in that we have a lefty starting and the Dodgers lineup will be righty heavy again. This means that in the middle innings we are more likely to need a situational righty than a situational lefty. Carle is available. Biddle-of-the-reverse-splits is available. If necessary Snit can try to get two innings out of one of them. Winkler only threw 16 pitches last night and should be available to pitch the 8th.
So there is a good chance that the mistake of bringing in Venters last night won't cost us today. It was still a mistake and it still could cost us given there will still be a couple guys in the lineup that it would be better to have Venters pitch to if a high leverage situation arises in the middle innings. But with a little luck it won't.
The Braves really need good/lucky Newk today.
Newk working the change early
hot radar gun?
I thought that ball was going farther. Acuna smoked it but zero carry.
So so far we have....
A. Ronald missing on a hanging breaking ball.
B. Albies passing up on a pitch he can hammer.
I think our guys are pressing.
I missed the beginning of the broadcast. Did Chip or Joe mention anything about the hot topic of last night?
9 pitch AB, and swung at 8... settle down, albies
Is there anyone in the league that swings at more pitches out of the zone than Albies?
Thank you Kemp for making that run so easy.
tremendous display of veteran laidership and clutchness by Muk
A hit with a runner in scoring position? Dare I believe my eyes?
For the first time in 7 games against Kemp, they are finally taking advantage of his slowness out there.
