Gomes seems like such a Braves target

Gomes should be essentially free in a trade.
Was supposed to say "buying low" on Bumgarner, and I think that's just as unlikely as paying what Tampa would require for Snell. The point still stands that there was SOMETHING that caused AA to pass, because topping that offer wouldn't have caused a ripple in the pond from the Braves' perspective.
Maybe the Mariners approached Paxton the way the Marlins have Realmuto - and said they weren't making a deal unless they got your "best prospect" or "best pitching prospect" as part of the deal, and AA decided Anderson or Wright was simply too much to pay if he had to add other pieces on top of one of them. Maybe he wants to float those types of pieces in an offer for Syndergaard. Who knows??? We're not likely going to ever find out the real reason he didn't pull the trigger.
For some reason I get the feeling we might be one of the teams in on Sonny Gray. I don't like the probably $9+ million salary he'll get in arbitration or the fact that he's been a pretty mediocre pitcher the past couple years. But on the upside he wouldn't cost much in terms of prospects and is a guy that there's a chance of catching lightning in a bottle with. I wouldn't do it but I think the Braves have always liked Gray.
Will say kinda surprised Nats and got Suzuki this early, i thought they'd be big players for Grandal as well as Ramos. One less suitor out there.
i really doubt we're in on gray at this point.
You guys just got Ozzie trolled. Ha. Suckers.
MLB pipeline has Sheffield at #31, in between Soroka (#20) and Anderson (#34)
BA in September had Sheffield at #22, in between Soroka (#17) and Anderson (#35)
FG is a little out of step, rating Sheffield at a FV of 50, versus 55 for Soroka and Anderson. Doesn't mean they are wrong, although my view aligns more with the MLB pipeline and BA view. Of course, the unknowable is how the M's front office rate the 3.
