I'm open-minded as to where talks with NK might go, and generally appreciative of the fact that talks are going to take place. Jaw-jaw is better than war-war, et al. And I'm quite impressed with the needle that the SK government has threaded here. On the other hand, I think that the most likely outcome is a furtherance of the trend that NK cashes in its nuclear proliferation chips for something that it needs.
Something good, or at least of positive utility, might come out of this. The possibility exists and I don't want to underplay it. On the other hand, the idea that Obama is history's greatest villain for pushing the Iranian nuke timeline back several years while Trump is a big winner for rewarding NK with a front-end gift of something that should be an end product of negotiation and not a conversation-starter is pretty rich.
If NK clearly violates the agreement then trump will be criticized
