That is the Braves biggest issue. No urgency. They figure they can show up, throw gloves on the field, and win 90 games.

It's not just the Braves my guy. Have you not seen the best teams in baseball the last two years get bounced quickly in the playoffs? The format is ass.

Looking at the Cubs Swanson is actually having a worse season than Arcia. People hating on Arcia but atleast they aren't paying him 20 mill a year to be that bad.

It is. But it's just a poor excuse for the fanbases to rationalize the series' losses.

Long layoffs are a poor excuse in baseball?

I am personally not upset or making excuses for the Braves., I do however, think a week off holds no benefit for that team... But I hate that the wildcard team could easily sweep a 2 game series and have their pitching completely reset by the time the division series kicks off. There is no penalty for being a wild card team other than having to beat another bad team. since money rules and they will never trim the number of teams in the post season, then at least punish those that make it but don't win the division.

They are. The Phils were just better. The Braves failed. Simple as that.

The Braves failed. That's the important thing.

It's also important to understand why.

Right. We were smoking the ball. In the month of september (and the one game in october) we scored under 5 runs only 7 times in 29 games. In the NLDS he hit that mark 1 time. The lone win. If we scored 4 runs every game, we win the series 3-1.

    buh buh buh their pitching.

In the 13 games we played them we scored 74 runs against them in the 13 games we played against them in the regular season. Or 5.69 runs per game.

To pretend there wasn't something that could have been wrong with the team outside of their control (aka hot bats had time to cool off) is silly.

But to feel the need to "understand why" is just as silly. The real reason was the Braves only had two playoff claiber starters. Fried and Strider. It is over for Morton. This year things look like we have one better. Time will tell. But if you couldn't see the first round exit coming in August last year, you were blind.

So a third playoff starter was going to allow the braves to hit? Makes sense.

If we scored 5 runs per game we win that series 3-1. Our pitchers only got lit up once. We gave up 3 runs, 4 runs, 10 runs and 3 runs. We averaged 5.69 runs vs. the Phillies. SO if we averaged that out we at least split the series.

We won the world series with much worse offense and rotation.

crapshoot. One year a losing division winner is going to win the World Series and then they might finally change it.
