    Stros DFA Gomez

WOW! Was lined up going into the season to get a YUGE check this offseason.....not so much anymore!

However, it would be funny and ironic if we ended up with Gomez and McCann on the same team to see if they buried the hatchet on their scuffle a few years ago. (Probably my favorite McCann moment next to the homer against Clemens)

I think Gomez would be an ideal buy low signing in the offseason, but it doesn't benefit us to trade for him now, unless we just wanted to offer him an extension now to keep him from having a good month towards the playoffs and parlaying that into a multi year contract.

I agree he would be a great buy low guy. Once he clears waivers could he be signed to multi year contract that would cover this year and next? If so I would take the chance and sign him.

He consistently is voted by his peers as one of the most disliked players in the league. I know we made it work with AJ, but I'd rather not push our luck.

Kina like AJ his kind of emotion is about winning, and that's different than the Diva who only cares about himself. It's still immature emotional based behavior, but it's easier to deal with when said player is on your team. He would be playing for a contract with that kind of emotionally based behavior. That could be a profitable situation.

Nope. He has piss poor character and make up. He's poison to any team he is on.

I prefer getting him over Puig, but doubt we touch either.
