    Subscription Based Consuming

The trends we're seeing is massive consumption based on subscription to a point we've never seen. Of course it's existed for ages, I mean we've paid for cable, etc. But it's growing more and more.

Obviously Netflix is the biggest newer company in the subscription game, Hulu represents a TV alternative, you have HBOGo leaving the cable requirement, CBS streaming, but it goes beyond TV and home video now. Google, Apple, Amazon, and SPotify are fighting for your music consumption via Subscription. AMC added Movie Pass recently where their goal is to have people pay a monthly subscription to go to their movies. I think it's a stroke of brilliance personally on that latter one, we all know that AMC doesn't make their money on ticket sales but on concessions, why not bring people in regularly? Amazon has book subscriptions. Depending on where you live, you can join a CSA where you get a share of food from a farm. Where else in life will we see subscriptions take over consumption?

I work for a technology insurance company (Asurion)... We do both subscription model and upfront model... As you might guess, the subscription model is far, far more lucrative.
