    Jeff Keppinger DFA'd any takers

I've always liked this guy. You wonder if the Braves would take a chance on him and try him at 2nd base.

Nope. Quite sure we've got enough swing-and-miss already.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

I'd love him over Pastornicky. Yes in a heart beat I'd bring him in. He stank last year, but on his career he's around average for a bench hitter, he's a below average MIF defender but so is Pastor and he can play 3B. IF Johnson went down he would far and away a better option than Pena.

    Yes.

Also I don't get why clvclv things Keppinger is a swing and miss hitter. His career K rate is 6.8 and career BB rate is 6.3. He's never had a season with a K rate over 10%. He's much better at contact that Pastor who's career MLB K rate is 18.0% and only had 2 stops in the minors where his K rate dropped below 10%. and Pena's basically in the same boat as Pastor. If anything Keppinger brings down the swing and miss of our team.

"Swing-and-miss" was a little bit of an overstatement, I agree. Just don't think a career .329 OBP guy with questionable defense is much of an upgrade.

Of course as long as it keeps Uggla off the field, I'm like just about everyone else - pretty much open to anything.

Well he doesn't walk much. He's offensively very similar to Tron.

He's not a good hitter, but coming off the bench, he is fine, much better than Pastornicky and better thna Pena except at SS.
