Can't speak for the rest of Georgia, but Savannah is paradise.
Decent weather for 3/4 of the year, not too big not too small. Beautiful parks and scenery. The town is a goldmine waiting to be dug up for economic development and it's quietly one of the fastest growing cities. Unfortunately since it's a coastline city, the only way to expand is west.

Like BJ was saying, I can't speak for the rest of SC, but Greenville is awesome. Constantly on lists of top "small" cities to visit. Close to the mountains, and downtown has become a great tourist spot, with Falls Park and the Reedy River going through downtown. Also some very great restaurants in downtown.
I'd recommend those of you that live close by to come visit sometime.
Unless of course you want to send your children to school or you happen to not be of the favored skin tone.
But hey, for the white privileged -- it's paradise

There should be no need for a link. There have been hundreds posted here and on the Scout board or maybe even read something outside of FoxWorld. But hey (again) why upset your safe and secure little bubble
The banner of the thread is "Quality of Life" - not a nice place for a weekend getaway.
Sheesh
Someone woke up in a pissy mood this morning...
Greenville actually is a great place to live, which is why not too long ago it was one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S.
Also, how are we defining the term Quality of Life? Seems like a broad and subjective term. That's why I was hoping for a link.
But hey, 57 says there's no need for one. Hey everybody, it's ok to take other people's work and post it on here, but not cite them by posting a link!
Savannah is a pretty liberal city these days so that's probably why it's a better place to live overall compared to other cities in Georgia. Cost of living is pretty cheap as well.
I think gold's point was pretty much every state in the deep south that's a red state is on here. In addition to being ranked in the bottom in education proportion of federal money received to sent etc.

Pretty much the same result. This time SC is 36 out of 50 . Rest of bottom 10 pretty much falls in line.

I dont know how we qualify "quality of Life" I seem to be the only one offering any context
The 7 year old link places SC at 36. Something tells me you oughta quit while you're ahead. :)
================
I've produced two metrics. One on how SC teaches it's children and the other measuring the quality of the air breathed and the water drunk.
To my mind after that ...
Or, do we measure "quality of life" by how many good restaurants are in the gentrified sections of time
Maybe 'quality of life' can't be measured because it can't be defined?
Alaska is big oil. As is Texas.
Not sure how "quite" well the Dakotas are doing. Then again they're the Dakotas so who's paying attention?
Texas had as big of a deficit as California did but nobody said anything about it, only took shots at California.

Texas is actually becoming a high tech state so that's not the whole picture. Austin and Dallas aren't growing large because of oil. California's deficit is actually worse than Texas. California and Moonbeam Brown have been cooking the books. Do a check on Google if you don't believe me.
