    Amusement Park food prices

So I went to carowinds today for the first time in twenty plus years. I'm not much of a roller coaster type guy so I never go. So after I went today, how do these Parks get away with charging so much for food? Every price was at least twice which you would pay outside the park. $13-$15 there for fast food you can get anywhere else for $6-$8. How do Parks get away with charging so much for food?

If you're there and want to eat you have no choice but to pay up. There's no competition in the park for food.

Same thing with the ballpark. We went to a Charlotte Knights game at the new BB&T Park in uptown and goodness, thought I was going to need to take out a loan to get a few hotdogs and beer.

Yup. If a business wants in at a place like that, they have to pay a premium, they pass that premium on to the consumers.

Haven't travelled in awhile, do airport vendors still do this? That's where it really pisses me off.

But honestly if you enter a movie theatre, amusement park, county fair, just gotta assume that you'll need 100-200 bux to pay for just the food if you are a family of more than 2. You know it walking in, it's their turf.
