Hamels threw 141 2/3 innings last year, 190 2/3 in 2018 and 148 in 2017, so AA and company probably weren't counting on a full season from a 36-year-old Cole Hamels. Whether or not a setback this early indicates there'll be even worse problems moving forward, I don't know.
