Some fella named Kevin Matthews is starting for Gwinnett in about 45 minutes.

Albies and Acuna at the top of the lineup. Ironpig lineup is loaded, too. (Hoskins, Crawford, Kingery; Cozens and Alfaro not in lineup)

And that's the lineup Sims dominated last week. They were all playing that night.

Acuna rockets one past the 3B. He is now batting .304.

Acuna is developing intonsomeone who can be a lynch pin of an offense. What a year he's had. All the hype this past winter was there for a reason.

I literally laughed out loud at my desk.

It's like we are all plodding along enjoying our mundane day, and thethe busts in with his random pozzy remark that's exploding with rainbows and glitter haha.

I am watching some of the Wentz game instead of working.. (thank god for robot tellers making my day easy)

But I am watching and here are a few thoughts. Wentz is HUGE.. or Yuge.. Tall, well built kid. But he doesn't seem to utilize it much. He crouches and then throws from a 3/4 slot.. Seems like he isn't consistent with delivery yet. His hook is more 11/5 not 12/6, so it misses outside to lefties some.

He is very projectable with his size.. but he is far from the best pitcher in the minors...

Wentz is still a ways off, certainly. But he was basically a 1st round pick who has pitched extremely well all year. You can't ask any more from his results. 'One of the best pitching prospects in baseball' is obviously hyperbole, but his ranking does seem to be lagging behind his pedigree/performance right now. I think he will probably be on top 100 lists if he keeps this up through the rest of this year.

I'm a little confused myself as to why he's still lagging behind a bit. I guess it's based on his velocity, I'm not sure.

Agree with enscheff on the Acuna/Andruw comparison. Acuna has done extrenely well, but everyone needs to go back and check Andruw's last season in the minors when the rocketed up through the system. Better hitting numbers across the board and then there was the all-world fielding part of the equation as well.
