    50 years ago in a major (sports) disappointment of my life, I missed #715. I was a sophomore at West Point and, as they usually did, had something far more important for me to do than watch my childhood hero set perhaps the most important record in major league history. Seeing the replay countless times just doesn't mean as much...sigh.
