It's an understandable call if it came from the dugout. Wrong, IMO, but understandable. If it was Jason's call, he should probably spend some time in the cage learning how to do it. No problems, though.

I didn't read what everyone said, but I posted that hopefully it's just rust after noting his mph a bit lower on average. Though he did seem to pick it up to finish the inning. That's a good sign too.

I got into major arguments on the Scout board last season in regards to this....... But Heyward is not what he is hyped to be. He is a great OF but a well below average hitter. I am afraid that is all he will ever be.

There's nothing wrong with the bunt. It's the execution that sucked.

Heyward deferring to the team b was not the wrong call.

    Well below average hitter?
    That's just factually incorrect.

No way the braves could trade Mr. Gattis. What could we possibly get in return that is better than a catcher with 40 hr power.

I have my doubts if Jason Heyward even loves bunting.

He's the leadoff man, struggling, in another RBI opportunity. I'm disappointed he decided to bunt instead of taking it into his own hands.

You don't have to convince me. My preference is clearly to keep him. I just wonder.

Gattis is great for the Braves and the fans love him. He is worth a lot to the Braves and if he has a solid season this year I expect a 4-5 year extension being offered to him.

He has got off to bad starts the last two years and it has hurt his average. He is a lot better than his average right now. He will get it turned around just like last year. He was the hottest hitter in baseball at the time he got hit in the face.

If you want to keep him as a pinch hitter...fine. He should not be in everyday lineup.

I would put Simba at 1 and CJ at 2.

19 games into a 162 schedule. 3rd best record in MLB -- you'd think this was a Nats board.
Give Marlins credit - they defended the bunt

Agreed, he has his really rough stretches, but he's had three out of four well-above average years in the majors, and one probably average to slightly below. Calling him well below average is absurd and just incorrect. It's an incorrect opinion based on very, very, VERY little.
