side note - its hilarious how an American flag has become synonymous with "not a Democrat"

I've only lived in TN, so I don't have a good reference on what it's like to live other places. But among the places I have been, if I had to choose one city to live in based ONLY on weather, food, things to do, traffic, surrounding scenery, etc. I would probably go with Charleston, SC.

NY not even in the top 10 of their 'relative humidity' index.

That's because you live in NY.
Tennessee summers are equally as muggy. At least in FL you have a breeze you generally get a quick afternoon shower every other day. In TN it's just hot and humid all day, every day in the summer and it rarely rains, except for the July 4th weekend.
Sorry my friend - You don't even crack the top 5.

Horrible traffic. Food scene sucks (we always joked that it’s “consultant food” ie overpriced B+ restaurants that people go to because they just expense it to their firm). You’re too far from the fun parts of the Bay (Santa Cruz, SF, etc) and so every weekend you are stuck in traffic with everybody else driving places. Homeless everywhere so no place to go on runs. I could go on and on and on.
You don’t want any lifestyle that caters to tech in South Bay. Everyone is transient and all the tech companies offer so many amenities because they want their employees to live on campus.
If you want to move to Bay Are, I would only consider Santa Cruz or Marin County.

How about that one?
Tennessee less humid than NY?

That's basically a breakdown of average humid days, Of course those states are going to have more humid days.
But I can promise you, as someone who vacations in FL 2-3 weeks of the year, it gets just as humid in TN.
Granted, Disney World in the dead of summer is not something I will ever do again. There is nothing that can prepare you for walking 9 hours on black pavement in 95 degrees and 80% humidity.
