They'll stop building housing when there is no money to be made

California doesn't allow for new homes to be built

    Florida does.

The supply of homes unsold/unoccupied is showing there is no more money to be made.

Expect to see a massive halt on building in Texas/Florida moving forward.

Its absolutely absurd what you try to do in your 'arguments' with me to twist my positions.

The original argument was that we need to build a massive amount of new homes to account for pricing. I am saying we don't need to do anything different than whats happening now (which includes plenty of homebuilding) other than throw out illegals.

And I am telling you that you are wrong. Kick out 10 million illegals tomorrow and we still are dealing with a housing shortage nationally. Again, we stopped building houses 15 years ago. And we are still nowhere near back to the level we were at in the early 2000's, despite the population being 20% higher. Even if you account for illegal immigration, we are still have 30-40 million more people than we did in 2000.

Where did we stop building homes? Not Texas/Florida which has a massive oversupply right now.

I've already posted three articles that show that.

Not sure what else you guys need to see.

The market will dictate a halt in building there moving forward.

And when illegals are deported - Yikes, its going to get ugly.

Also - this exercise started by our retarded President suggesting we should give everyone free money to be able to afford a home.

The low IQ people said we should (as a country) just build more housing

The mega MAGA IQ genius said no, that's stupid. We don't need more homes. The easier thing to do is deport 20 million people. In ten years, a young person will then be able to afford to buy a house

Weird that there is an oversupply of homes in Texas/Florida and prices still aren't down.

Maybe there is more to the equation than the number of homes.....

But sure - lets build 20 million new homes in Florida and see how that works out....

People are still moving there bro.

They will get filled at some price.

Once there isn't money to be made, then the builders themselves will stop.

Builders are getting crushed right now because of the lack of sales.

Its going to happen naturally but some just can't read the tea leaves.

    Keep up.
They don't have a ton of abandoned homes. Florida and Texas have a healthy housing market. A shortage of homes is never a good thing, unless you are in the business of selling a home.

Home-building really took off in Florida and Texas in the aftermath of the pandemic. Now many of these new developments are sitting empty

    NOT HOMES. DEVELOPMENTS SITTING EMPTY.

In the last 50 years of Florida and TX, when has a shortage of population been a problem? Why in the world would anyone project a population shortage?

You are creating an emergency that doesn't exist.

Of course there isn't a population shortage in Texas. There are probably 20M illegals there right now.

    That isnt new.

The list of developers in FL that have ventured out into new areas thinking they can make something out of sandy dirt and palmettos is long and distinguished. That has been going on since I've been alive.

Its been ultra magnified because of poor projections on what migration patterns would look like.

We have built LESS THAN HALF as many homes in the decade plus since 2007 than the same amount of time from like 95 through 2007. That is incredibly significant. And many economist have been ringing the bell on this problem for years.

And that's ok. The housing market isn't collapsing in FL/TX. It is swinging back to the norm, which is good thing.

    AND THAT IS OK!

New homes commonly sat empty for months 10 years ago. That's what happens in a healthy market. Homes are not supposed to fly off the shelf like the newest Iphone.

20 million illegals in TX for a state with a population of 30 million....

I'll take made up facts for $500, Alex.
