And in 2022 they were 11 games back on June 1st and didn’t clinch the division until the 2nd to last game of the season. And in 2019 they were mid until Memorial Day. And in 2018 they didn’t take over 1st place until August and didn’t clinch until the last week of the season with a sweep of Philly.
Point is, it doesn’t matter what you do in the regular season.

Braves should win 20% of their remaining games bc of sale

Sale has been so good. But it makes me miss Strider even more—because this rotation with Strider is insane.

Time for Duvall to go beddy byes.
Sale is a legit CY candidate. Dude has been insane.

I don't have high hopes, but it would be really, really nice for Sale to be healthy in October assuming we make it.
I like the top 3 in oct. missing strider sucks but having the 3 horses ready in oct would be great. Just need the offense to not take the week off if they can find their grove. I am really leaning to pulling for the wild card. Sure there is risk but the stupid setup actually helps the team advancing. They can basically start the #3 and then be back at the #1 next game.

wOBA/xwOBA confirms the story we are all seeing with our eyes.
Sale, Chris LHP .235 .255 (lucky)
López, Reynaldo RHP .258 .302 (very lucky)
Morton, Charlie RHP .303 .304 (even)
Fried, Max .272 .305 (lucky)
Elder, Bryce RHP .416 .379 (terrible)
Sale is pitching like an undisputed Ace right now. We all see it, and the numbers back it up. Keeping him healthy for October is more important than winning during the regular season. He is capable of almost singlehandedly winning a 5 game series if he starts 2 games.
Lopez, Morton and Fried are pitching like #3 SPs, each with a varying amount of luck. I expect Fried to settle in as his typical #1/#2 self as he puts the first couple starts behind him.
Elder is what everyone who wasn't a fool knew he was. I'm not sure how many resources should be dumped into a #5 SP for a team on pace to win 99-100 games until a few more of the in house options are given some run.
