Adds potentially to maybe having to find someone to shore up the bottom of the rotation.
Thinking short term...I keep seeing possibilities for replacements flying and the narrative on Twitter (X) is "well we won one without him"...This one hits different because we just don't have that leader in the clubhouse like we did with Freddie...Olson and Riley aren't those types of dudes...I feel like we just don't have the leadership presence to get us through this.

What really sucks about this is that we don’t know if Ronald will ever be the same again after tearing the ACL in both knees. This could be the end of the run as we know it.

Yeah, agree on the leadership. Someone will have to step up both in their play in that leadership. Sale is a guy who has those leader type qualities, but of course, he's not an everyday player. Maybe Riley when he returns, but that's only a guess.

I dunno about end...but he definitely won't be feeling or playing like he's 26 anymore.

But what if he never stole bases?

I feel so bad for the kid.

Our season certainly isn’t over, but this one hurts.

Welp. Time to see what big bat we can get at the deadline. I think we still have the rotation to have success in the playoffs.

Losing Strider and Acuna is wild

Wow, this hurts. For losing Ronald, but also for how needless it happened. With the first one, at least he was chasing a fly ball. This time...he was trying to get a lead off second. Had his hit been a couple feet higher, he'd have been trotting around the bases. Wind blowing a little differently, and it wouldn't have happened.

This is also going to hurt his eventual HoF case. As it stands now, 6 years into his career, he has just two outstanding, full seasons. Everything else was shortened for one reason or the other. If his last ACL tear is any indication, he won't be back at full strength until 2026. By then, 30 will be on the horizon.

You naturally wonder what would have happened had the Braves told him to be less aggressive on the bases. But it just doesn't work that way. That's who he is, for better or worse. You can't tell an extroverted person to be introverted, and expect him to just flip a switch. And you can't tell a player with his flamboyant style to just play safe and smart. It has to come from within him.

You call Baltimore and get one of thier young cheap outfielders that they have a lot of.

    Heston kjerstad or Connor Norby.

Sucks, but they won it without him before. Let’s hope history can repeat itself.

I absolutely hate this for Ronnie, the Braves and fans of the game. It’s an awful loss. But if this doesn’t light a fire under this team’s asses, then we’re screwed
