I know Chris Johnson has a reputation as a lousy defender but it seems to me that he's made some pretty nice plays in recent games.

He's not as bad with his glove as his throwing arm is.
At least he's consistent with the borderline low call.

WTF was that, ump?
Listening to pirates feed and their announcers were so butt hurt over the pick off challenge. According to them challenges are only for blatantly bad calls and that it's too businesslike and mechanical. Apparently getting calls wrong is what makes baseball great. Worst argument ever.

The Pirates announcers have been upset about a lot of things this series. They don't like Simmons swinging hard. They don't like that Fredi reviewed that play. They don't like that they didn't get a couple strike calls. They make our announcers look impartial.
Of course, it probably all comes down to them being in a losing streak.
Bet the Pirates announcers are butt hurt over Simmons taking that one himself, too.
Nice reaction by Wood to let that ball go through so Simmons could turn it into a double play.
A week ago, Heyward would get cobwebs standing at third. Freeman gets a pass, so let's pitch to the hottest hitter on the team.
I hope Justin makes them pay big time here!
Anything but a ground ball at at infielder here.
Just stupid to wave Freeman.

That's poor choice sending Freeman there.
Stupid ass third base coach.
So does Fredi get charged with a bogus challenge there?
