Chopping With The Braves And Rolling With The Tide
If we even think about it we better be bringing back some MLB level studs.
Something big is gonna happen this off season. Several favorites may be gone.

I don't care about favorites. Just make the name on the front of the jersey better.

Not sure what starter they will go after and I know it's a long shot but Jon Lester given he's from Georgia and we need rotation help. Only way I think it could happen is if we trade both Upton and the extra money. Uggla's money is gone next year so it could be back loaded.
I had already posted this in the GM Winter Meetings thread.
Lester ain't happening. Now I'm with you, I'd love to happen but not gonna happen.
If Jason won't take an extension and come back for a few more years, then I say trade him for a large haul. There's no reason we shouldn't get an ass-ton back for him. Get an MLB-ready TOR arm, maybe another BP part, a very good OF. Just go all out.
If we're going to consider trading Gattis and Upton and/or Heyward, we're probably not competing in the next two years. In that case, it almost makes sense to hold onto BJ and ride out the contract, which would allow us to get a much greater return on those 3 players since we won't have to package him.
To Heyman's tweet I guess i'd respond with "yeah, no Sh!t"

I know our offense is the big weakness but both DOB and Bowman mentioned our biggest priority is young high upside pitching. It was just speculation but the Cards are looking for power and DOB through Carlos Martinez out there. Not saying straight up but Martinez would be a great pickup for a long term SP
