Yes, I said the last two years, then used 2012 to show that even the year before that span, they were similar as well and both played decently well.
There seems to be a thought among Braves fans that Maybin is young and still developing and has a chance to return to what he did one season 4 years ago, where EY Jr. is older and exactly what he has been the last two years and no hope to do anything more.
I'm simply saying that their careers have been very similar in actuality. The only real difference is that Maybin was a massive prospect, so his name still carries some weight. But he's just not very good. I would love either one, or both, to realize all their potential and become very good. But the chances of either doing it are similar. So saying it's ridiculous that Maybin isn't starting over EY right now is odd. That's my only point.
You said 2011 is an outlier for Maybin, then said it wouldn't be bizarre if he repeated it with no reason to back that up. Padres fans were excited at the possibility of what BJ provides over Maybin. So...
I said his outlier season wasn't that far off from his career numbers, which is true. I don't EXPECT him to replicate those numbers, but if he did, it wouldn't be bizarre, considering his career averages aren't that far below.
