It’s over."

I offered the thought a couple weeks back that 7-10 posters on this board would vote for Trump come November.
Wondering this past week if that guess was low and should be 15-20 !!

I don't know what the apples-to-apples is on corporate effective rates, but I think this comes fairly close.

No it isn't, or you suck at filing taxes. The combined effective federal income and payroll on people in the 96-99th percentile, which is individuals with an income below I believe 420K, you're effective federal tax rate is 22%. Of course your marginal is higher, but even the top 1% carry an effective rate of like 33%, though it's commonly lower than that as most of them know how to play the stock game.

I'm counting all taxes that I pay... not just federal.
Look - to me it makes no difference... Nearly half of my income is stolen from me... whether it's nonsensical federal stuff that I hate, bull **** property taxes, state taxes, sales taxes, gas taxes, etc.
The question is am I getting a better return for that tax rate than I could make if I had my money?
That's not the question you should be asking. If it is it means your selfish and I recommend moving somewhere with no taxes and see how rosy it is, odds are you would not have a job, be poor, and **** in a box somewhere. Because I'm willing to bet you're not wealthy enough to live comfortably in UAE, Andorra, or Monaco.
Realize that your taxes are a fee for living in a society. If you want to disagree with the amount or what it's being used on, that's one thing, but asking if you're better off paying taxes than not is selfish and childish.

No... I'm asking if the government confiscating half my income is more efficient than letting the people have more of their earnings.
It's funny... I'm "selfish" for wanting keep more of what I earn, but it's not "selfish" for the people to confiscate other people's property.
Gotta love the left
