    Pretty good deal. Dirks looks like a future setup man and he's not far off. Pfeifer is a lefty with a chance.

    Phillip Pfiefer looks to be a lefty relief pitcher 23 and at A ball 2.67 ERA 32 innings 44 strike outs and 21 BB, control seems a bit off but must have decent stuff.
    Caleb Dirks Right handed reliever 23 and at AA ball 113 inning 136 Ks 42 BB with a lifetime Milb ERA of 1.43

    doesn't look to bad for a guy we got off the scrap heap, and looked lost at the beginning of the year.

    This is a good trade for both teams really. If Norris can continue to pitch well, the Dodgers got a bargin.. but the Braves cashed in a 'lighting in the bottle' guy for 2 BP arms that could be ready in a year or so.

    It's Bud Norris. Literally anything better than a smallpox-infected blanket is a good return.

    That's actually a really good return. I would have been more than happy just getting Dirks.

    Yes. Dirks went over to them last year with Jordan Paroubeck for slot money.

    Hold on now...in this scenario have we been vaccinated? Because a blanket for Norris seems pretty good.

    We unloaded Toscano too. We owed him a couple million I believe.

    @Dodgers
    #Dodgers have acquired RHP Bud Norris, OF Dian Toscano, a player to be named later and cash considerations from the Atlanta Braves.

    this gets better.. we just dumped Toscano on them too.. maybe the player to be named later is HO..

    Apparently we're sending cash and a PTBNL as well.

    We save 3.5M I believe. Not a great trade. But palatable.

    If on April first you would have told me we would get 2 minor league arms who should contribute at the big league level in some capacity for Bud Norris I would have made that trade right then. so yeah, this is a fine deal for us, even with the cash added in and Toscano.

    Scouting report of Pfeifer from the 2015 draft. He was the Dodgers' 3rd round pick out of Vanderbilt.

    Another benefit to the trade is that it arguably puts us back in the running for the #1 pick. With Julion and Bud pitching like bosses and Folty set to return, we were starting to look uncomfortably palatable.

    No. We owe Toscano about 0.5M this year, 1.3 in 2017, 1.5 in 2018 and a 0.2M payout in 2019.
