Look at it this way (and I didn't watch so correct me if I'm wrong):

The Nationals needed the freak occurrence of the best closer in baseball not having any command and the best defensive player in baseball to commit an error in the 9th to avoid losing the series.

Seriously, how many more games, over the duration of them being here together, will we lose with both Kimbrel not being his usual self and Simmons committing an error in the same inning?

To be fair, Kimbrel had no command.

I could tell early on, couldn't command his breaking ball.
