I was thinking if we took back say Prado and maybe Tazawa.

Crasnick: The #Braves are in the market for a third baseman, but they're only looking for a one-year bridge to prospect Austin Riley, who slashed .315/.389/.511 in 48 games with Double-A Mississippi at age 20. They think he'll be ready to go in 2019.
Enscheff, you’re famous lol.
From the braves reddit page: “The way to make it happen fairly cheaply (prospect wise) would be to take on some bad contracts. On another board there was a suggestion that we trade Newk, Riley, and filler for Yelich, Tazawa, Chen, and Prado. That would be extremely expensive in terms of the contracts we would be taking on, but honestly I could see the prospect load being even lighter than that if we were willing to take on all four of those guys. Otherwise, the prospect cost would almost definitely not be worth it. It would cost over 100 million in surplus value, something that I am definitely not willing to pay in prospects”
Bryan Shaw close to a deal with an undisclosed team, no team announced yet.
Shaw to Rockies.
Addison Reed to Phillies for three years
Punt 2018 by design or stand by and watch it punted for you?
Solarte has one more year and two team options.
I'm all in on Yelich. He would be the perfect addition for us. AA needs to go for it unless the cost is just absurd.
thank you weso1!

Not yet - they did sign Hunter though. Certainly lessening the $5 million to $7 million options pretty quickly at this rate. Only good thing about that is it could eventually drive the numbers to sign Davis or Holland down if they're left unsigned when the game of musical chairs abruptly stops - always a danger when Borass is your agent and he pushes the issue as far as he does sometimes. I was almost sick when Greg hired him last year - there's a fine line between enough being enough and having to gamble on yourself on another pillow deal, especially when you've already blown your elbow out once.

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Blasphemy around these parts - but if we spend a big chunk of the "assumed money" elsewhere, what you get out of a Phillips/Camargo platoon might be interesting for one year on the cheap, plus you certainly wouldn't need another IF with all the interchangeable guys (Albies, Dansby, Camargo, Dat Dude).
If you really do believe in Riley and could put a good enough package together for Yelich without including Austin or Wright and spent the money you have on a Darvish/Arrieta/Cobb your 2019 rotation could be Darvish/Arrieta/Cobb, Gohara, Julio (if not traded), Folty, Wright with Yelich in LF and Riley at 3B. If you HAD to use both Soroka and Allard to get Yelich you'd still have Newcomb and Fried to serve as your #5 if Julio were traded.
Of course if the earlier mentioned values were close and you traded Soroka, Allard, Pache, and Wentz and take on the rest of Prado's money for Yelich you'd inch awfully close to that $120 million worth of "surplus value" that was mentioned too. Prado's 2019 salary wouldn't really get in the way since Markakis will be off the books.
