No dumb trades should be made, but tomorrow can't necessarily be counted on.

Try to compete, even if you consider this year to still be a rebuild year, y'all know the ole' adage of you have to learn to crawl before walking? The last 3 World Series champions got their feet wet in the playoffs before taking it all.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

I remember wanting us to acquire lowrie. I look at the standings tonight, and the A's have 60 wins. They're having a sneaky good season. Currently 1.5 games out of wildcard

All we really need is a manager like Lou Brown and a cardboard cut out of our hated ownership. Then we strip away a piece of clothing off with every win that we need to make the playoffs.

Every time we win, we peel a section.

Little bald man with a woman’s voice naked would make this team want to win?

Stras to the DL. If they post a clunker in Miami this weekend, could the Nats sell? Stranger things have happened...

That would be the smart thing but they won't.

The Nats had a big window with some really good players to win it all and they crapped the bed for the past 6-7 years.

I guess Rizzo was a failure just like Wren's Braves were.

in retrospect their best chance was when they made the playoffs that first year ahead of schedule

We have guys that need traded with the 40 man log jam on the horizon. Peterson, Demeritte, Wisler, Sims type guys. Making moves with guys who are MLB ready, but do not have a place on our team is good and needs to happen. Wisler would be a great #5 for a team with a budget for example.

I really dont want to see any major prospects moved at the deadline. The price is ALWAYS higher. We don’t need to pay a contenders premium, when realistically....we are not contenders (we are over achievers).

The core is in place but you are not going to give him credit for the small pieces that have us where we are. Annabell, Tucker, Brandon early on, BiLE early on. Small things like that help a team that is growing.

Maybe. That’s not the case for us though. The AL is stacked this year. I’m not confident that we would win more than one game in a seven game series. Two tops.

no. he's the GM. he gets credit for the winning that's happening.

Well sure. I’m just saying don’t pay a contenders price THIS year. Make some small moves and see what happens.
