If we could get Senzel I’d do it but man I’d hate to trade Ender.

Lmao
Please let Philly sign Happ! I want no part of him.
I dislike Heyward as much as anyone here. You missed the part of my post where I suggested the cubs eat 60% of his salary. If you believe the projections on him being a 2 war player then paying him less than 10 million a year would give you a 2 war player for a 1 war cost.
Maybe so, but doesn't the monster amount of swing-and-miss bother you guys at some point? We understand that it may not be the concern it used to be - and I'm OK with that to a point - but when constructing a playoff roster, are you really trying to make us believe that a "keeping the line moving" guy (so long as he's productive) doesn't at least make you a little more comfortable in a short series???
If you buy that chasing a TOR starter is a bad use of resources, wouldn't using the same type of prospect capital to get a guy with that type of contact concerns be just as bad an investment when it takes away from your biggest strength (the sheer number of capable arms that could very well protect you from rotation injuries complately devastating your season)?
I've almost resigned myself to the belief that AA simply can't plug all the holes without destroying the depth the rebuild was all about and substantially overpaying at this point because of the finances. At this point (and with Philly likely out on him), I'm not sure it's not time to decide it's Brantley or bust. AA keeps saying they're not willing to include multiple high-ceiling arms in a trade. If that really is the case, call Brantley's reps tonight and offer him 3/$54 million and get it done NOW before that's no longer an option and hope the rotation and pen upgrades can come from within. Give me a lineup that's so deep without holes that Dansby's your worst hitter and see what happens. Put Brantley behind Donaldson or Acuna as Freddie's "protection" so you can't pitch around them either. Doing so would put all kinds of traffic on the bases in front of Flowers and Mac so that they could be pretty productive, and would mean ANY production you receive from Ender and Dansby is just a nice bonus.
Sure it kills their trade value, but turning one or two of the elite arms from the pile of the ones we have into high-leverage RPs makes this team really good - if AA's not willing to trade them, use them where they can help the big club for crying out loud.

Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...
Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
Chris Dimino says, "If JT is pitching second in this rotation you probably haven't done the work you wanted to do this offseason."
We need to trade Julio Teheran!!
Dimino also says he wouldn't pay the price for Bumgarner.
Most Phillies' reporters at meetings would be shocked if Harper doesn't join the Phillies.
McAlpin thinks Happ was a plan B or C or D. (The video was recorded this morning.)
They both think Keuchel is the leader in the clubhouse right now given his relationship with Mac.

Phillies got good production from their rotation last year, so not sure this moves the needle much. But they definitely are improving, if only incrementally. Still, they are tying up a good bit of money on aging players, which generally is not a good recipe for success..
The next person that suggests the Reds might move Senzel to anyone gets pistol whipped out back.
