Is Folty finnish
Forever Fredi
Here's the plan Stan for the rotation:
Phillies Game 1 Teheran
Phillies Game 2 Touki
Phillies Game 3 Wilson
Cubs Game 1 Fried
Cubs Game 2 Teheran
Cubs Game 3 Touki
Marlins Game 1 Wilson
Marlins Game 2 Gausman
Marlins Game 3 Fried
Folty comes back in late April. One of Touki or Wilson is sent down.
Eventually Soroka and Gohara will force their way into the rotation. No need to hurry. Let em have 2-3 months in the minors.
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
I honestly think Soroka, Fried, Wright, Touki, Wilson and Gohora have higher ceilings than everyone in our rotation not named Folty....and Folty really has one year that we are hoping he doesn’t regress.
All of the names above dominated the minors and rose quickly. When it’s mentioned about making trades from our pitching depth...I’d rather see Newk, Guasman and Julio be the guys gone next year.
I also wouldn’t take Folty off the trade table if there was a huge offer. His health worries me. He flirted with that forearm tightness last year.
We have Anderson, Muller, Wentz, etc. on the heels of these guys. It’s time to let the young guys have a go. I’m fine if Gausman, Julio and Newk are pitching well, but if they aren’t ....there’s no reason to have them pitching average when we have five guys that could do the same, need that experience and have better stuff.
Smolty, Mad Dog, Glavine, Avery with Millwood or Neagle.
Wright, Tookie, Fried, Wilson/Soroka, and Anderson.
We can dream with a staff that provided many years of domination and frustration as they pitched their ass off and only one WS win, but you get a chance, that is all we ask.
But I ain't seeing it but I can be wrond.
All logic aside, if ever healthy I'd love to see Gohora get a look at closer. And yes, I'm aware I'm not the first one to suggest this.
