Btw one thing to point out on bullpen construction and spending resources on relievers: we picked up Swarzak and Blevins for very little. I wouldn't say it is easy to find reclamation projects like those two. But they are out there every season.

"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
Blevins is the equivalent of a medical specialist, but I was surprised when the A's let him go for a bag of magic beans. He's of little use to a non-contending team, but if there is room for him on a contender, I thought demand would be a little higher. He's fallen off a bit over the years, but as I said earlier in the thread, you just have to throw out most of the stats when determining whether he is effective.
Not sure any of the three stooges are available tonight. Maybe the ghost of Tomlin will make appearance.
Coppy
Tomlin hasn't pitched since giving up 4 runs against the Twins on August 7.
Melancon and Greene have pitched consecutive days and probably won't pitch tonight.
Martin threw 12 pitches last night and Newk 9. Both are probably available, as is Blevins who has thrown 3 pitches each of the last 2 games.
Jackson and Swarzak didn't pitch last night and probably will be our main options tonight.

We're 10-5 in our last 15, with a bullpen in about as bad a slump as I can ever remember. Credit the offense and the starting pitching for picking up the bullpen and making most of these games unreachable even if the Babip gods are against us.

before Blev went in Muk said one word to him: curve
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
