Most people thought this was a very real possibility months ago. I know it was wishful thinking that the season would happen. It’s disappointing for sure, but probably the right decision. I think those schools that generate revenue for cities that rely so heavily on the football program are going to see some bad economic problems. I think they could be why some schools/conferences have not postponed the season yet. Holding out hope things can change at the last minute.
Things could definitely change for the better in six weeks. If colleges went virtual only and limited the amount of kids on campuses that would make it a lot more feasible. It comes down to the presidents and the insurance underwriters. The fact that half the schools already cancelled due to the possible lawsuits shows the threat and would make the potential lawsuits bigger since the threat is knowledgeable
I don’t think insurance underwriters have much to do with it.

It’s not about health and safety though. If it was football would have been finished a long time ago. It’s about liability.

Looks like Big 12, SEC, ACC, Sunbelt and Conf USA will give it a go. Oh and Army and maybe Navy?

I dont see college football as we know it surviving Covid.
Reading about distrust at FSU over testing results, both players and parents
