I didn't see this coming. Walk rate is way up. I haven't looked at the spray charts or deeper stats, but he just seems to do a better job down in the count than he did in previous years. I could be wrong, but he just looks like he has a better approach at the plate.

And of course Mets get a lucky homer from Alonso.

This seems like an odd time to pull Smyly...

Why would his result against a dangerous RHH affect the decision with Dom on deck?

Yeah. At the start of the season we had Albies, Ozuna, Freeman, and TDA all not performing offensively with low BABIP and luck being a huge part of it. That caused the team to lose a few games. Now Albies and Freeman have corrected course as expected. But Ozuna, Acuna, and TDA are out. Just frustrating from an offensive standpoint.

Snit's thought process is baffling. He allowed Smyly to face a monster RHH a 3rd time, then pulled him before he could face the LHH a 3rd time.

Yeah, but at least he's not awful in his cold streaks anymore... he's just average... so I think he will continue to be a pretty good one

Not a chance in hell this bullpen holds a two-run lead for four more innings. Better tack on a few.
