I can't take my emotions out of sports. If the the Braves knock Freddie out of the post I will cheer and if Freddie homers to knock them out I will cheer that too.

Yeah I can't imagine wishing for Freddie at the rumored asking price.

I think that makes sense. If you assume AA holds 5% for mid year upgrades, then 15 million gets you to about $155-160 million opening day payroll + 10 million in reserve for a total of $170m.

Said earlier. I have no idea why athletic signed DOB or Schultz as their Braves writers.

They weren't must read for the AJC. Seems they just wanted them for name value.

Schultz takes the last 24 hours of this trade and extension are even worse.

I'm sure AA was willing to go to the outer limits of the budget if it meant bringing in impact talent.

I doubt he would do that if the return was say Grienke.

The moving part is how much AA is holding in reserve for mid-season moves.

I do not. I just don't think he has the mental make up to focus.

I do have irrational hope that he could become a stud Reliever.

So just curious, is there any chance Dansby gets extended, if not which way do we pivot next season?

Every newspaper in the country has a Schultz - reactionary takes shouted from the ivory tower. He’s not as bad as others still.

His Freddie Freeman column aged like milk in the summer.

If we only have 15 million to spend we are in trouble IMO. We can't have an OF of Olivera, Duvall, 10-15 million guy and/or a rotation of Fried, Morton, Anderson and a bunch of dudes. With the expanded playoffs maybe you get in and make a deadline deal.

If we only have 15 million I'd have to hope we make another trade.

We pray Braden Shewmake's struggles last year were the result of missing a year due to Covid restrictions and hope he takes a huge step forward. Otherwise, we're probably going to have to see who's available for trade.

If the offense works out the way we think then you could deal with a defense first low bat guy. Those are available every year in FA or via trade.
