I love Soler and want him back but have a really weird collection of OF’ers. Ozuna and Soler would split time between DH and LF, Acuna in RF, and Duvall in CF. That’d make Rosario a really expensive bench bat. Either we aren’t in on Soler or Ozuna is trying to be traded. Acuna in RF, Duvall in CF and Rosario in LF with one of Soler/ Ozuna at DH makes more sense. And none of them is a true CF.

The last thing I want to see is the best hitter on the team coming back from a knee explosion to be playing CF. I don't want to see him stealing bases either...ever.
I don't know how this collection of OFs is deployed, but protecting Acuna from injury has to be priority #1 in the decision making process.
I wish we’d hear some good news on Soler…
I'm not so sure. I'd probably rather have him in center than running into the corners in right or left. I'd fear swift decelerations on the warning track more than the running on grass he'd be doing in center.
But I agree that protecting Acuna from injury is priority 1.
I think its obvious that Story is about to be our next CFer lol
Move Riley to LF. Put Story at 3b. Back to back WS Champs. Celebrate.

I just have that much more respect for AA coming out of this. He handled this the right way. Freddie tried to play the game, and he got beat.

After reading that I am 100% behind AA. Not mad at Freddie, he played the game and “lost”. Although $160+ million isn’t really “losing” is it. It’s clear from Chippers quotes that Freddie wanted to be in Atlanta but didn’t think AA would balk on the 6th year. Oh well, worked out just fine for Atlanta and Freddie. Time to move on

That article is kind of depressing. At least, of what I was able to read.

Same. Counter to my initial read on this situation, Freddie wasn’t dead set on LA. It seems as if his representatives wanted to dictate terms and played hard ball with the Braves without a better offer in hand. AA eventually called their bluff and moved on and Freddie was left scrambling.
That Chipper took the initiative to remain a Brave for life while negotiating with a front office that was far less flexible than AA is even more amazing.
