I remember last offseason we were all saying "Any day now AA is going to make a move to get us a starter...There is no way JD and McCann were our biggest moves..." Next thing you know, it is opening day and those were still our biggest moves of the offseason....
At this point, I have to trust him to do his thing and find those moves that will really improve our club...I just hope it's not in June like with DK

Braves in addition to Phillies (and others) are another team that could be a fit for a Kris Bryant trade. They seek 3B and prefer not to go too long term.
Well I guess this means we have not spoken with the cubs about him....with how AA keeps things close to the vest

Agreed. I’m not saying he wasn’t trying. Just saying he walked away on things to improve our club once they reached his comfort zone. Which is why I trust him.
With the amount he has spent this offseason, I wonder if there is a greater urgency to get the team constructed early

I will say this: if the Phillies and Nats get JD/Bryant, I'd be REALLY surprised if AA didn't go make a big-time move in reaction. Not a knee-jerk signing, but he'd do something.
Bryant would be awesome if truly available.
Need to figure out how to fleece the Cubs.

It's so weird that the Braves are in on these big names the last few years...
Donaldson last year, Keuchel, Hamels, Bryant. I'm not used to this.
Forever Fredi
I could live with that deal.
The deal would Cubs enough MLB ready talent to keep their contention window open.
The good thing is the Phillies don't have the talent available to trade to match that package.
Maybe the Cubbies have been reading CLV's dissertations and believe with more AB's Riley can hit breaking pitches.
