What the f with Atlanta sport teams today. Great game but falcons need to grow some balls
Falcons season seems a lot like the Saints season last year. Worst thing they can do now is start winning and end up with a 20 something draft pick and not even make the playoffs. Get a top 15 pick and take a good young left tackle. The Falcons are a talented team, they just need a LT and a good head coach.

Baker is a fine LT. The Jets abused the right side of the line as much or more than Holmes. so either a dominant tackle or guard is needed. Falcons can still get in the playoffs but now they virtually have to win out. Which I just can't see happening especially if they can't stop the Jets. Falcons as a team just need to blitz more and take more chances against guys like Smith, Newton, etc. Can't give him time and play zone that's a recipe for disaster.

Whats up with those Atlanta DB's they drafted? Not sure how you can make hte JEts passing attack look so good.
They just don't build their team the right way.

If Baker is our biggest problem then we have a good OL. He's not a world beater but he's not terrible. The whole right side right now is a mess. I'm prying they get their **** in order but I can't see it happening. Falcons OL needs I'd go RG, RT, C LT, LG. Konz may be a bust but his issues may stem from a turd next to him. Only problem is early looks at the first round guard situation don't look promising. We'll see how things shake out but it seems like an OT heavy draft.
Falcons also desperately need a pass rush. Osi has not filled in for Abe. We desperately need a guy who can pin their ears back and get to the quarterback. Falcons JMO may have went too gung ho with drafting 2 CB. An OG or DE would probably look nice.

Wasn't their fault. Alford for starters is a nickel for now (my guess is Asaunte is gone after this year so they can better use his money) And Trufant has been good. The Falcons weren't pressuring Smith and he had all day to throw. Geno made great passes. JMO the Falcons must change how they play teams that aren't Brees or they may not sniff .500

We drafted CBs, to play mostly Zone. I don't get that. The Jets WRs aren't a team to be feared, so press them man to man and bring some heat. I don't get that.
Our OL is a certified CF. There are three street level talents starting. I am being nice to Konz and Baker in that statement. And Baker is hurt (as usual)

Pass rush was pathetic. I think we got to Geno in under 4 seconds twice. Once was on a blitz. Smith was sitting in the pocket without a care in the world half the game. The drives we stopped the Jets were the ones we pressured Geno. He didn't have to make tough throws under the gun all night like Ryan was.

You expect to get pressure all game? The bottom line is that you couldn't stop the run when you needed to, your DB's were awful, and your coach didn't realize that you should not have run against the Jets.

Yes you should be able to pressure the QB all day. Jets did it to the Falcons. If you have an effective pass rush Geno would have sucked.

Jets had pressure on Ryan all day? What game were you watching?
Natural Immunity Croc
When did Ryan have more than 3 seconds to make a pass? Sure a few plays the Jets may not have been in there but Ryan was sacked all his times in 3 seconds or less.

Ryan gets the ball out as quick as any QB in football. He doesn't want to have the ball for longer. That is not how he plays the position.
Natural Immunity Croc
That's not how he's been playing lately because of his lines letting guys get to him. He's love to have 5 seconds to let Julio run a double move or Tony to find space. His line doesn't give him that time unlike say the Pats or the Broncos. Peyton and Brady and also play under the gun, but they don't have to and it benefits them when they don't.

Thats not how he has ever played the position. Ryan always makes his decisions quickly and is the reason why he is among the least sacked QB's for the last five years.
